    Description

101 Drinks and How to Mix Them (circa 1934)
Promotional recipe booklet produced by Dean W. Geer Company, Direct Mail Division, Oshkosh, Wisconsin and stamped on cover for the Cornelius Cafe in Seattle, Washington.
In stiff textured paper wrapper bound with two staples, this booklet is in remarkably good condition with slight wear around edges and a stain and chip on the back (see photo). This booklet is cracking me up with its colorful comments for each drink recipe. "Stay close to a lamp post after imbibing" and "Guaranteed to make a rabbit spit in your bull-dog's eye" (What??)
This brochure is scarce to find and is interesting to read in the context of a post-Prohibition/Great Depression era recipe collection. For example, the Whiskey Cocktail: "Be extremely careful not to drop this one. Even if it doesn't explode, you'd have a new rug to buy, and you know how times are."
