Vintage Large Embossed TRADECARD:Melcher+Miller Boots+Shoes-LEWISTON,ME-SAILBOAT
VINTAGE VICTORIAN ADVERTISING TRADE CARD

DESCRIPTION: Large 4-5/8 x 6-3/8 lovely embossed Victorian advertising tradecard for "Melcher & Miller, The Boot and Shoe Men, Under Music Hall, Lewiston, Maine, Sign of the Gold Boot." Lovely large embossed branch of dogwood or apple blossoms, behind which is a rondel showing a sailboat on the ocean under cloudy blue skies.  Back of card is blank.
CONDITION: This card did not come from a scrapbook: back is clean and undamaged. Some typical wear to edges and corners, age toning, including 3 darker areas to and above the advertising text, although not nearly as dark as my photo shows. Gorgeous colors and an unusually large tradecard that would be great matted and framed for anyone with ties to Lewistion, Maine or surname of Melcher or Miller.

ALASKA, HAWAII, APO/FPO and INTERNATIONAL: There is a small USPS surcharge for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and APO/FPO addresses, but international buyers will be charged full international rates plus a handling fee to cover currency conversion and extra-sturdy packing materials. EBay will automatically send you an invoice immediately after purchase, but please wait for my revised invoice which is sometimes less than the first invoice you receive, as once in awhile the calculator is incorrect.
COMBO SHIPPING: Some of my items ship for free, some for .00, some for more, so if you purchase several items, please wait for me to send you a revised invoice. If you pay the automatic invoice that eBay sends, the P&H will be the total P&H of all items purchased, which is typically higher than what I charge. Sometimes, however, the weight of the package goes above 13 ounces which is the limit for First Class, and which will result in the higher Priority shipping fees, so, due to variables such as the shipping method, combo shipping charges need to be calculated by the seller, not by eBay. If you have any questions, please e-mail.

A NOTE ABOUT FREE SHIPPING: If you see in my listing that shipping is free, please ignore. During the past holiday season I had a brief sale offering free shipping on items. That sale ended long ago and, although I added P&H back to my listings, in some of them, I also mentioned free shipping in the text description. I thought I had also deleted those references, but one or two have popped up over the past couple of months, so obviously I have missed some.Therefore, I would ask for your indulgence as I continue to revise shipping. The free shipping  typically was in the cards and books categories.
HANDLING TIME: My listing indicates 10 business days to ship, only because eBay makes me choose a handling time. To be on the safe side, I have chosen 10 days in case I am away on a business trip (which happens rarely, but life does sometime interfere with my eBay business). Typically, I ship two or three times a week (Wednesday and Friday) and one other day that varies). I cannot remember ever taking 10 days to ship an item in all my years on eBay. Depending on when your payment comes in, your package will normally ship within 3 days, sometimes as fast as 1 day, sometimes as long as 4 or 5 days. During pre-holiday weeks, or by request, I ship more often. Please don't hesitate to buy from me thinking your item will take forever to arrive--it won't.
