    Old African Teke Fetish Figure - CONGO - Early 20th Century
    Old wooden fetish figure, from the Teke people of Africa's Congo Region.  11 inch tall wooden figure, carved in typical cubist style. Original organic fetish material bundle consisting of mud and other substances, still attached, leaving only the head and legs exposed.  Much loss to fetish material, possibly stabilized to prevent further loss.  Stands well on it's own, no stand needed.  Worn condition, with slight encrustation.

    Purchased at auction years ago, this is  part of my personal collection I am selling to downsize. A charming and authentic figure!
