    Description

    A carefully carved Ibeji also known as Ibejí, Ibeyí, or Jimaguas in Latin America, is the name of an Orisha representing a pair of twins in the Yoruba religion of the Yoruba people. If a twin dies in infancy, the family has a wooden figure carved to represent the dead twin. These carvings are called ere ibeji ('ere' means sacred image, 'ibi', means born and 'eji' means two). This beautiful statue is a collector or museum piece. The statue is approximately 9 inches tall and two in wide.
