NIMBA: A Portfolio of Drawings by Cleveland Bellow (1975).  Seven artist's proofs signed by the artist.  The drawings measure 18 x 24 and are in great condition.  There is a water stain in the upper left corner of the drawings although it does not in any way impact the images.  It is roughly 4 inches.  Otherwise, a gorgeous portfolio.
Bellow uses the concept of NIMBA as a "guardian figure" to interpret his concern for the role black women in America have played in the survival of a unique culture.  The drawings represent aspects of birth, conception, fertility and spirituality.  Bellow offers a sensitive expression of ebony women.
