    Description

    This is a rare antique large Ethiopian hand carved wood ceremony drum with a leather hide drum head which is tied on with
    woven leather strapping. This amazing, very heavy specimen measures 10 1/4 inches tall by 20 inches wide across the top with a circumference of 64 inches and weighs 13 pounds and 10 ounces. This Ethiopian ceremony drum is in great used condition with an African repair with plant resin to one edge of the drum head, two slight holes which were naturally occurring in the hide before the drum was made and some broken leather thongs. This antique Ethiopian ceremonial drum would be a perfect addition to any African art collection.
