Antique Malinke Tribe African Carved Wooden Chair Chameleons Ivory Coast, Africa

Description

This is an antique, hand carved, wooden, African chair which was tribally made from wood with four small metal decorations by the Malinke tribe from the Ivory Coast of Africa.
This rare African Malinke made wooden chair has two hand carved chameleon lizard designs below the seat on the front of the chair and two chameleons on the back of the chair and this chair measures 31 inches tall by 25 inches wide by 16 inches deep.This amazing tribally made and used Malinke chair weighs 16 pounds and 5 ounces. Authentic antique used condition with wear, a small crack in the wood on the seat (shown in the second picture) and a chip in the wood on the underneath inside of the bottom back of the chair next to a leg (shown in the last photo).This chair was reintroduced into the trade from an American collection and the collector who owned it had applied felt pads to the bottom of each leg of the chair so it would not scratch or damage a wood floor.These could be removed by the new owner if desired.This specimen is very desirable and would make a fine addition to any African art collection or be a wonderful piece of designer furniture for home decorating.
