Antique 18th/19th Century Continental Carved Wood and Cloth Doll 25”. This skillfully carved bust must have filled a niche, but we can’t say what it was. What is certain is this handsome young man will beautify wherever he is placed. We know he was made in Europe long ago, and he is clothed in a red silk blouse trimmed with with gold braid and fringe. His pantaloons are linen. These garments are without a doubt original to the doll. Some cracks in the paint are visible on his head, and one fingertip is missing. Overall this is a quite lovely young man.
