    Description

    Offered here are six antique merchant’s trade cards that advertise shoes and boots.  The cards are from C.M. Henderson & co., Celebrated Boots & Shoes – Chicago, IL; Hughes Bowman & Carter advertise elastic & ventilated gaiters – a woman’s boot.  Another card from Hughes, Bowman & Carter has pricelist for ladies, men & children’s shoes - .25 - .00.  Edwin C. Burt – Fine Shoes is presented by Chas. H. Wilson & Co., Troy, NY.  The card for Solar Tip Shoes (patent February 19.1878) – Wholesale Dealers Dunn & Ashton, Trenton, NJ.  The last advertising is printed on colored paper rather than card stock – it is colorful with young student wearing 8 button shoe, Father Time carries is sickle with several pair of old boots with worn toes – this advertises A.S.T. Co Boots & Shoes with Black Leather Tips – C. Shaad, Three Rivers, MI.
